Sue’s Bench

Sue sitting on her bench.

I built this bench for Sue, a family friend of my son-in-law. She and her late husband, Dan, shared a passion for drag racing with him. Dan passed away in January of 2019.

I used KDAT lumber for the bench and planed it to make it smooth and splinter-free. I carved their names on the front legs and filled them with epoxy. I also engraved the date of Dan's death on the front part of the seat and the words "Always & Forever" on the top board of the seat. I applied Defy Ultra Semi-transparent stain to finish the bench.
