Bathroom Storage

Well, we needed some storage space in my bathroom. It has a very small vanity and the one I built several years ago has never been installed. So, I came up with this idea. This shelf unit will slip over the water closet and provide the much-needed storage space.

The unit is made of poplar with a 1/4-inch plywood backing. Since the unit is to be painted, poplar was chosen. It is an excellent wood to paint, and it was on sale at my local supply house. (Capital City Lumber) The bottom brace is removable in case the unit will not go over the water closet due to ceiling height. It will then slip in from the front. The unit is 30 inches wide and 72 inches tall. I wanted a wider unit but, 30 inches is all that will fit easily into my bathroom.

The project is not finished due to other time constraints and this incredible hot weather. Once it cools a bit, I am back on the shelves and aim to have them installed by early fall.
