The New Pump House that We Built

by maidonww | Jul 18, 2022 | Outdoor Building | 0 comments

We use county water but, I kept the well to use for irrigation. The old brick pump house was ugly as sin. I built it from brick shortly after we moved here in 1986. The roof had deteriorated long ago and was replaced with a blue tarp. Brenda said it was time for something better so, we built one that looks quite a bit better. The new pump house is insulated with a thermostatically controlled heat lamp inside.

Finished product
Supervisor & Inspector doing her job.

The new pump house has a metal roof and LP Smartside siding. The foundation is treated 4x6 lumber. All of the materials were purchased from Lowes except for the metal roofing. It was left over from when we had our roof replaced in 2016.

My dad, Nevell Maidon. He was a self-proclaimed Jack of All Trades and a Master of None. After retiring from the HVAC trades, he did some woodworking to fill his time. I guess I got my love of working with my hands from him.
